Getting practices in and being with the team will surely help him. just a matter of time . Playing in games will help him faster . but.. it's not up to us.

Ugh, what a mess. The annual "not good enough for the NHL, not old enough for the AHL", topped off with a splash of Russian imperialism. Poor kid.

Solid as always, Michael.

At the same time, if I were a KHL team, or the KHL for that matter, why would I budge? I'm in it to make money, and I'm in it to retain the best players I can. Why should I give two poops that the Buffalo Sabres are inconvenienced. And I certainly don't care what the CHL thinks.

It sounds like Zadorov and his agent are leveraging their position to get him into the NHL...which is probably not the best for Nikita in the long run. I know the CHL has restrictions on European players (2 per team max., no goalies), but it seems odd a KHL team could restrict Z. from playing with London when he's already signed an entry level deal with Buffalo, even if that contract hasn't kicked in yet.

These rules (?) seem kind of Byzantine and may force Tim Murray's hand. We might have to keep him on as a 7-8 defense, play him in like 15-20 games (or more if the season spins out of control), and send him to the World Juniors to play for Mother Russia/former "Workers' Paradise".

I'm sure we'll get more clarification soon.

I've been blasting that record since I found it at Elmwood Arts Festival a couple of months ago. What started as somewhat of a goof has become genuine love and appreciation.

Drouin looked pretty good for Tampa in his debut.

Guess it did not hurt him going back to Junior last year . Imagine that.

But did it hurt the Tampa Bay Lightning?

That's what we'll never know.

Yeah I guess not. Although it was a game vs edmonton, which is almost like an all star junior team lol.

The NHL has got to fix this crap rule.

It should be at the team's discretion where to send a player.

Sick of this crap, and I'm sure there are plenty of NHL GM's that are, too.

Good thing it's this season where we can accommodate and still not hurt our club.

I want to see it go away too (and I think it will when/if the CHL ends up unionizing). However, there are 29 other teams that are dealing with this. Buffalo seems to be the only one complaining about it.

The last thing this team needs are bumps in the road of this rebuild.

Can't the (frank)ing hockey gods just smile on this team, organization, city JUST ONCE?!

That makes sense . The long term proper development is what is best for the team . Maybe not what is best for over zealous fans that think they know better than the GM and coaches . But with Yzerman's long career and his development as a good GM in a successful Detroit system and what seems to be a pretty good coach in John Cooper . I trust their judgement.

Yeah it's def not the optimal situation. Good thing it's this season that this is happening during. Any other year and a thing like this could be crippling.
